3 Deadly Drabbles - A Mixed Bag of Madness
We all go a little crazy
In Shadow
Closet monsters are creatures born from the fevered imaginations of children. I am no child, and I am certainly not crazy, but there is a monster in my closet.
He does not torment me, doesn’t knell by my bed while I sleep, but he is there, always watching. He sits in shadow, hiding in the space between clothes no longer worn.
I see his pale face peeking out, no answer coming when I ask who he is or what he wants. In my heart, I already know the answer to the latter, and I know my death is coming soon.
The Killing House
The protesters swarmed the slaughterhouse, intent on freeing as many animals as possible. Pigs and cows fled, only to be eventually rounded up and returned to impending death.
While the police made arrests, they also found a secret room, painted red and home to women of all ages. Almost all were dead, stripped of flesh and hunks of meat.
One young woman survived, her shackles long enough to allow her to reach her fellow captors, whom she fed upon to stay alive. When they brought her into the light, her eyes shone a shade of crimson, gone feral with fear.
The Ripper
He found himself caught in two minds. On the one hand, he wanted to remain free, to continue to kill. On the other, they wanted the papers to get his name right, to give him proper credit.
He scrubbed his hands in the bowl filled with tepid water, trying to remove the blood from under his fingernails. Where the water failed, he used the tip of his blade to scrape away the final remnants of murder.
Clean once more, he tucked the blade into his jacket, donned his top hat, and stepped onto the cobbled Whitechapel streets, ready to rip.

This time it is tough to choose a favourite! 😱 All very creepy and very good but I had the most unsettling feeling in the first story! 🖤🖤
