3 Deadly Drabbles - All the Meats
Read before you eat
A lot of the prompts I receive from my horror group fall into similar themes, with cannibalism high on that list. Here are 3 in that theme, based on thse prompts.
BUFFET
Of all the dishes on display at the country buffet, Kevin was drawn to the stew. It looked thick and hearty, the perfect meal for a miserable day.
He scooped a heaping ladle of the stuff into his bowl, salivating at the sight of the meaty chunks swimming in thick gravy and surrounded by vegetables. He scooped up a chunk of the meat and grimaced as he struggled to chew through the sinew.
It was then he noticed the chef grinning at him as he sliced of pieces of his bloated belly and dropped them into a fresh new pot.
POISON TIP
The blowgun felt light in my hands as I loaded the first of the poison darts. It had taken me some time to master the infernal thing, but the payoff was going to be worth the effort.
The guide pointed at the helpless creature tied to the post and encouraged me to shoot. He cooed about how delicious the meat would be once they had drained the poison.
His eyes went wide as I turned to train the blowgun on him instead. I looked at his wonderful physique and thought of all the wonderful recipe opportunities now available to me.
FINGERLINGS
The diners had spoken and had done so loudly. They were tired of the old recipes and wanted something new, something bold and daring.
My restaurant had thrived on catering to the rich, who wanted items they couldn’t get anywhere else. I was happy to oblige, as I shared similar tastes.
Carefully, I sliced the flesh off the fingers of the freshly killed man. I flash fired the pieces until they curled, after which I placed the fluffiest mashed brain inside the crispy flesh.
I knew my diners well, and I knew they would love my ingenious new fingerling potatoes.
