3 Deadly Drabbles - Grubby, Grimy & Grey
This drabble set includes a Talking Terrors video
Grubby
There is no reason why there should be dirt under my fingernails. I employ a gardener to tend to my flowers, a mechanic to work on my car, and a cleaner to keep my house neat.
The black stain beneath my fingernails troubles me, and no matter how hard I scrub or pick at the grime, it stays. In fact, it looks like it might be spreading.
Trying to remove it by getting my teeth under the nails was a bad idea. There are now black veins spreading out through my gums. I also now want to eat my employees.
Grimy
Dirt and dust clung to the buildings like leeches in search of blood. No amount of cleaning could remove the grime, which seemed to grow thicker with each attempt at disinfection.
In time, the dirt began to slowly expand and contract, the windows of high-rise buildings shattering under the pressure of what now appeared to be a living, breathing organism.
With the windows breached, the dirt crept inside, the inhabitants breathing it in and feeling the urge to merge and meld into a single organism. The seething mass of limbs and flesh rolled toward the exit in search of expansion.
Grey

For someone who LOVES to dig into the dirt, who always has dirt under her nails during all seasons except winter, someone who used to EAT dirt much to her mother’s chagrin, these are incredibly disturbing. 😳
But wonderfully crafted!
This is both unsettling and intriguing! The transformation from a simple annoyance with dirt to a full-blown horror scenario is masterfully executed. The imagery of the grime becoming a living entity is particularly chilling. Can’t wait to see where this goes!
