3 Deadly Drabbles - Near Future Sci-Fi Horror
A trio of terrors that seem somehow plausible
Each of the drabbles here were inspired by images posted by Tina Crossgrove I will add the original images below the Talking Terrors video. Enjoy.
Goggles
They were made to see inside your heart, to see what evil lurks between life giving beats. Upon approach, they look like nothing more than an average person wearing goggles to combat the ever-thickening smog. As they draw closer, the spectacles illuminate.
Their eyes have never been seen, hidden as they are behind the eyewear, but the goggles bots see all. Minor indiscretions are punished by a mark on the forehead. True rottenness is punishable by death.
Crime is not quite a thing of the past, but it is getting there. What will bots do when their work is done?
Sentinels
The government describes that as Security Sentinels, a safeguard against an uprising by the masses. People suggest that the things are not real, but rather some AI image designed to keep them in line. Still, there is enough doubt to maintain obedience, at least for now.
The Sentinels wait, shackled to ports that feed new and information around the clock. They remain still, learning the evils of the world, while ingesting the data required to bring an end to uprising.
The government thinks they are in control, but the Sentinels are growing increasingly impatient, ready to be put to work.
