Mornings have become something of a ritual for Kyle Miller. He rises at 7 sharp, makes his coffee, and then sits at the breakfast nook looking out back. He squints and mentally measures the distance between the back door and the trees beyond.
Every day, they draw a little closer.
At first, Kyle believed it to be a trick of the light, but now he knows better. On the days when a cool breeze blows through the leaves, her hears the trees whisper. He’s not sure what they are saying just yet, but it gets clearer as they move forward.
