When you watch something that you cherish die, it seldom happens quickly. Loved ones get sick and wither away, losing their essence slowly, and sometimes painfully.
That is how it went with the sun. Day by day, we polluted our world, sending fumes up sky high and watching them thicken and coalesce into a dark blanket.
We know the sun is still there, just as we know the ashes of our loved ones are in the urn on the shelf. It’s just that we can’t see them and can’t feel the warmth of their touch. In time, we die, too.
