Michael jumped off Fiddler’s Point at full speed, arms spread wide as though ready to take flight. He reached up and pinched his nose just before plummeting below the surface of Grant Lake.
His momentum carried him deep, and as he prepared to kick his way to the surface, he felt his foot snag on something metallic. Looking through the murky water, his foot wedged between a door and a brass handle.
Trying to kick free, the door swung slowly open, revealing dry land and orange sky beyond. Robed figures stepped into frame and beckoned him into their mysterious world.
