Comic Book Drabble - Adrift

What happened on board the abandoned boat?

While making mock book covers, which has become something of a new obsession, I made one for the Mary Celeste. That is a story that has always intrigued to me, as I think there is a good horror tale hiding in there. Anyway, that led to me coming up with a rather basic little drabble.

The boat drifted lazily into port, gliding across the water as though steered by skilled hands. It was not until it bumped against the wooden dock that people began to notice there was a problem.

Fishermen watched and waited, looking for someone to appear from within the vessel. When it became clear that no such person was going to show themself, one man took it upon himself to climb aboard.

What he found was an empty cabin, neat and tidy and with everything in its place. It was only the pale, disembodied hands on the helm that showed something off.
