Daily Drabble - The Exit

Let me tell you, being dead is not a party. I roam around my house, now lived in by others, unseen and unheard. I have begged for release, even if that means going to some fiery hell pit. It can’t be any worse than this.

I float toward the end of my country cabin driveway, as I do every day, only this time there is a hum and a red glow. An exit sign is there, pointing toward an unknown destination.

I make the turn and see a point of blinding light approaching. With a beaming smile, I leave purgatory.
