The moment Paranoia forces the confession, leading into such an agonizing climax, lands with real force. And having the entities attach themselves to Ellen at the end gives the whole piece a beautifully bleak, cyclical finish
Man, the switch from seeing the shadows to hearing them after the surgery was such a good escalation. I thought I knew where this was going with the floaters diagnosis, then “You made us” completely changed the story. And passing everything on to Ellen at the end was nasty in the best possible way. Apparently getting rid of your inner demons just means forwarding them to somebody else. 😂 Great read, John!
