Open letter to the producers of Black Mirror (cc sent to Love + Death + Robots):

1. Get busy and get another season up

2. Please contact Mr. John Watson for some chilling plot lines.

Excellently crafted, sir. Twists and turns and creepy mental patients. Thank you.

Damn. This one is going to stay with me.

I definitely upset my wife with it.

John, you outdid yourself with this one. Excellent. Heartbreaking, but so, so good!

It took me way too long to get to this. I loved this. The big guy was like a saviour 😂 definitely a great breakfast listening journey.

Wow, this one didn’t just hit, it SMACKED. Well done!

Woah, great story. Loved the ending.

I was wondering if Gabriel represents guardian angel here.

John Watson - Horror Author's avatar

I’m not entirely sure myself, which sounds weird. I saw him as both a guardian angel and perhaps a future Davey, which would explain the head scar.

Julie Fernandes's avatar

Aah yes, in the hindsight, future Davey makes more sense!

There's a quiet cruelty in letting Davey survive the spectacular disaster only to die from something invisible. We're so focused on the plane crash that the real threat slips past us too. That’s life, I suppose.

Well damn…that was soo good!

This was excellent! The gut punch at the end is killer. It’s a story that will definitely stick with me.

Wow, this story absolutely gripped me from start to finish! The way you built tension around “Big Rumor” and Gabriel had me holding my breath, and the twist with the plane crash and Davey becoming the miracle boy was chilling and heartbreaking all at once. Your descriptions of the woods, the hospital, and the terrifying visions were vivid enough to play out like a movie in my head. This is the kind of tale that sticks with you long after reading—creepy, suspenseful, and emotional all in one.

All the feels in this one…. Curious how you are making your moving art? And are you seeing more engagement with them?

I create the original image in Midjourney, which I then animate there. It puts out an MP4 that I convert to gif online. I can then post the gif as my cover image. The gifs do convert higher and seem to be driving subs, too.

Nice! I am far too nervous to use AI… I get backlash from my readers. I don’t like to touch AI when I write, but I’m intrigued by the marketing aspects.

John Watson - Horror Author's avatar

I will use it for things like images for my stories and marketing graphics. I never use it to write because I like to think of myself as an actual writer. I know I could use royalty free images for the images here, but I have a definite style that I want for my page. I know I will miss out on subscribers because of that, and that’s fine, too.

Ohhh he’s terrifying! A little flash of horror before I even get to read.
