A great example of restraint. The horror isn't in the gore—it's in the quiet inevitability. Every paragraph narrows the reader's options until that last line leaves only one terrible conclusion. That's hard to pull off in so few words.

Each piece of yours I read reinforces just how masterfully you craft dark fiction.

The slow-burn misdirection here is especially effective: you lead us to sympathize with a man who seems to be losing his grip, only for us to realize he is actually relishing the countdown until his monstrous hunger returns. The sensory details, the metallic taste of copper, the boiling blood, make it all the more unsettling
