New Horror Book Releases - July 14, 2026
So many new reads this week
It is a great day to be a horror reader, as we have a bumper crop of new books hitting the shelves today. Since there are so many, I will give you guys the titles and a wee bit of a blurb without going into too much detail. Let’s get to the books:
Brave New Weird: The Best New Weird Horror Vol. 4
As the title suggests, we have an anthology of short stories that hit a variety of different horror styles, all while maintaining a weird vibe. This is a great way to find new writers.
Cross My Heart, I Hope You Die by Mallory Arnold
Who’s in the mood for a slasher. One man, three girlfriends. Once the women find out that their boyfriend is a cheater, they decide to lure him to a remote cabin, only to arrive and find he has been murdered. Revenge becomes survival.
Eerebus-13 by David Wellington
This one leans more into sci-fi, but it is certainly horror adjacent. Be aware, though, that this is Book 3 in a series, so if you don’t want to read the blurb and wish to start from the beginning, the first book is called Paradise-1.
Home Sick by Rhiannon Grist
Imagine moving out to the country to get away from a bad situation, only to end up living beside a strange neighbor. This one is set in the Scottish Highlands, so it might well end up in my basket.

Scary Movie Night by Miranda Smith
After breaking up with her abusive boyfriend, Tippi gets her own place and decides to have a costume party with friends, all with the goal of watching scary movies. It turns out, though, that her ex is not done with her.
The Sea Hides Its Dead by Megan Bontrager
This one might be my pick of the bunch from this week. Explorers find themselves trapped in an underwater cave that is rumored to be home to a horrific cult. Yup, sign me up.
White Rabbit by Abigail Rose-Marie
If you are looking for something a little different, this might be the way to go. A young woman strikes up a friendship with the ghost of Sylvia Plath in a crumbling house overlooking the bay. It’s giving me Shirley Jackson vibes.
The Turn by Rachel Feder
This is a good one if you are looking to build up your read numbers for the year. Clocking in at just 136 pages, this novella tells the story of a live-in nanny and a missing mother in a chilling gothic tale. This book releases on July 15.
That’s it for this week. I shall return next Tuesday with more.
