The number of new releases this week is ridiculous, which is a good thing for book lovers. Instead of going through them all, I am going to pick out 5 titles that really call out to me. With all that said, let’s get to my picks for this week.
Banquet for the Damned by Adam Nevill
I may have mentioned before that Nevill is one of my favorite horror authors, so I am delighted to see another new release. Making it even better is the fact that the story takes place in Scotland in what is sure to be another chilling tale of folk horror.
The Big Bad Book of Kaiju Anthology
I grew up loving monsters of all kinds, so this collection is calling out to me. It also helps that the list of authors in this anthology is a massive as the monsters contained within.
This is proving to be a fantastic week for me, as Katsu is another author whose work I admire. In Incarnate, the story is of a failed influencer who goes to work with a coder to create a new version that will infleunce the masses.
I promise that I am not simply picking books with a connection to Scotland. This gothic tale of terror set in a boarding school on the Isle of Skye sucked me in with the cover first. The blurb also sounds fantastic, so it had to make the shortlist.
This indie author hit it big with “Man, Fuck This House” a few years back, so this is a much awaited return from him. Again, influencers are in the spotlight, with a pair of vanlifers going to great lengths to prove that one is better than the other.
