I was already having such a good time with the black vans and Nerd Patrol and all that nasty, controlled chaos... then the hospital explosion and that one heat signature turning into not quite human yanked the floor right out from under me...
The tension between Drake and Rankin is electric—it’s clear that the monsters outside the van aren't the only ones Drake has to worry about. The pacing here is excellent; moving from an earthquake to a potential 'infectious' outbreak kept me hooked. Can't wait to see how the Nerd Patrol handles the cavalry arriving! “This creature is a shapeshifter, but she may also be, how can I put it, infectious." Such a standout line🖤🖤🖤

I have a novella called Cradle Robber that is an aswang standalone story. This serial essentially picks up where that one ends.
