I already didn't like Thorn, but now I'm ready for him to die as brutally and in as much detail as possible. I was NOT expecting the villain to shift so quickly. The reveal of Baba Yaga was a nice touch. I'm really enjoying all the folkloric creatures here. The Rake is so creepy, but again, my fury at Thorn has turned all these monsters, at least temporarily, into "good guys."
Just as an aside--you may want to add a content note to the beginning of the story. I passed right over the subtitle as I was eager to jump straight to the story, and others might do the same.
