House of Flesh

In times past, death was often tragic and unexpected. It is not so now, as death has a season, a time of cleansing that sees the population culled by unnatural forces.

Choices are made by unseen judges, with the oldest selected first, followed by those deemed unfit for the new era of humanity. Everyone chosen can feel their time coming.

The morticians live in houses made of flesh, essentially living inside the skin of the dead. Each new season sees them decorate their abodes to create homes that serve as a reminder to be decent. Not all heed the warning.

Mother Mortis

She is the supreme being of her world, the one that the people worship and turn to for mercy. Made from the flesh of willing sacrifices, she radiates power, her cunt a glowing orifice calling out for love and adoration.

The people are more than willing to give of themselves, to fall into the favor of Mother Mortis. Not all slip inside her inviting gash immediately, hoping instead to do her bidding and become part of her expanding organ.

In doing so, those enlightened few become part of the pleasure and pain of Mother Mortis. In death, she brings life.

The Reaping

A storm brews on the horizon, as it does every century. The clouds darken and thunder rumbles from within. It is not the elements as the people know it, but rather a growl of the reaper’s hungry belly.

He emerges from the clouds; all twisted flesh and tentacles tipped with long-toothed leeches. The people accept their fate, as they always do, bowing before the master.

Some hope to be chosen, while other mumble prayers asking to be spared. All the reaper sees is food, and he chooses based on nothing more than satiation. Each century, the reaping culls the herd.
