The Weekly World of Weird for March 21, 2026
Strange news from around the globe in cheesy tabloid style
The Paranormal Digest was fun while it lasted, but I wanted to take my obsession with the spooky world in a bit of a different direction. With that in mind, welcome to the inaugural edition of the Weekly World of Weird. I will be scanning the interwebs each week to find the strange goings on around the globe, while doing my best to add little bits of schlock and humor. Without further ado, let’s span the world to see what’s been haunting the headlines.
For decades, the Patterson-Gimlin film has been seen as the Holy Grail of evidence that supports the existence of bigfoot. This reporter has long been of the belief that the grainy footage was little more than a hairy highlander in a zip-up gorilla costume, and it now seems that there might be proof that my assumption is the truth. In a recent People story, documentary director Marq Evans claims to have total proof that the video is indeed a hoax. He is, though, also promoting his documentary, “Capturing Bigfoot,” which I also believe might be a hoax until I actually see it. Watch this space.
First reported on Coast to Coast, we now have the story of a British man claiming that he has been forced to leave his home due to the haunting of said flat. Objects move, drawers open and close, and apparently all without the use of any type of almost invisible fishing line. The man has claimed that the entity is “sucking the energy out of him” and making him sleep for 18 hours at a time. This reporter wants to know when he can move in, as that level of sleep would be welcome even with a succubus trying to poke me awake.
Shocking video below:
For a man who spent an inordinate amount of time with a little person inside a rubber alien suit, followed by attempts to turn Tom Cruise to dust with space lasers, it sure has taken Spielberg a long time to address the alien issue. He is now on record as suggesting that aliens might already be among us here on earth. This reporter recently spent some time at a Waffle House after a late-night drinking session and can confirm Spielberg’s beliefs, although he also does happen to have a new alien movie coming out soon.
If you want to talk about potential hubs of UFO activity, you have to bring Mexico into the discussion. Paco Borja, a resident of Huejotzingo capture video evidence (see below) of a massive alien ship hovering between a pair of volcanoes. Skeptics believe that this might be video trickery created by Spielberg (see above story) to further promote his upcoming movie, Disclosure. Others suggest it may be a pinata suspended on strings and made to appear like a ship. What do you believe? Alien armada or cigar pinata filled with delicious candy treats?
That is the weird news for this week. Please join us next Saturday when this reporter will begin a year-long investigation into the strange noises coming from his bathroom while he is in there.
