I am originally from Scotland and now live in Atlanta with my chef wife, Penny. I have published 16 books and a host of anthology shorts, but I recently took a 3-year mental health break that killed my career. As someone who took a nearly 11 year break from writing and promoting my work (the latter of which took me OUT, lol), I completely relate to your need to step away. But man, you’ve come back strong and it’s very smart to sell your own books on your own platform. We may need to look into this at some point over at ISP.

If you are ever in a place to write about it, I’d be curious to read more of your experience of burnout and then return to creativity. I myself had I period of burnout and withdrawal from my screenwriting career around the time of Covid, but I’ve returned to creativity, writing and screenwriting in different forms.
