Welcome to My House of Horrors
Get to know me and my Stack a little better
While I would suggest that the name says it all, I figured it might not be the worst idea to talk about what I do here on a daily basis. As the name suggests, it is all horror all the time, specifically:
Flash Fiction
Drabbles (100-word stories)
Horror Comics based on my drabbles
Horror bites narrated story videos
Serial novels
There is more coming soon, as I am always coming up with new ideas to test myself and keep my subscribers entertained.
A Little Bit About Me
I think it’s important to know a wee bit about the person you are going to be following and maybe even interacting with. I am originally from Scotland and now live in Atlanta with my chef wife, Penny. I have published 16 books and a host of anthology shorts, but I recently took a 3-year mental health break that killed my career. I returned via Substack, removed all my books from Amazon, and am in the process of rebranding and adding them to my own store, which is at:
Get To Know My Work
I write all kinds of different horror pieces without settling into one specific sub-genre. To give you an idea of that, here are a few of my more popular Substack pieces that run the horror gamut:
Flash Fiction Friday - The Diner
Jonas steered his truck through a seemingly endless series of switchbacks, now totally convinced that the GPS was leading him astray. The higher he climbed, the thicker the fog became, and with sheer drops off to his left, every turn became an invisible hazard to navigate.
Flash Fiction - Abomination
Wee bit of a warning here. I usually don’t do much in the way of gore or true horror weirdness, but this one is definitely up there. You have been warned.
Why Should You Subscribe?
I try to be as prolific as possible, delivering new stories on a regular basis. I offer a FREE 30-day upgrade to paid for all new subscribers, allowing you to access my full archive, which includes several eBook freebies. If you become a paid subscriber, you will also get every new release I put out, which includes the rebranding of my old books. I have set the prices as low as allowed, so it is $5 per month or $30 for a full year of paid subscription.
I hope I have given you all a reason to stick around, but if you have more questions, my chat is always open. I am happy to answer any questions you might have and will get back to you ASAP.
Please, look around my House of Horrors and see if it’s a place you’d like to hang out in.

If you are ever in a place to write about it, I’d be curious to read more of your experience of burnout and then return to creativity. I myself had I period of burnout and withdrawal from my screenwriting career around the time of Covid, but I’ve returned to creativity, writing and screenwriting in different forms.
Glad to meet and know more about you, John! ❤️
