Updating My Author Checklist
I have been writing stories for as long as I can remember, but for the longest time, I did so without any real intent. A couple of tales ended up being self-published and sold a few copies, nothing more.
When I decided to take one more run at becoming a published author, I created a checklist. The first item on there was to finish National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which I did.
The second thing was to find a publisher willing to take a chance on an unpublished author in his fifties. That check mark was received after taking time to polish my NaNo story before submitting it. From that point on, my checklist seemed to be filled with items that I believed were borderline unachievable.
One of those was to have a bestseller on Amazon. I figured that was doable, but only after several books and working hard to build an audience. No one was more surprised than I was when Karaoke Night, my first novel, became an international bestseller. My next item was to deliver 10 standalone books, which I will accomplish sometime in 2021, but it was the item that followed that one which seemed well out of reach.
USA Today Bestselling Author has always seemed like a bridge too far to me, but after being invited to take part in a box set that is going on a list run, that check mark might just come. My next book, The Hollow-Eyed Girl, will appear in the Possessed By Passion box set alongside 20 other authors that I cannot believe I am getting the opportunity to work alongside. The first step in reaching this goal happened today, as the pre-order links are now live. You can get 21 amazing books for just 99 cents on your favorite device by following one of the links below.
I hope you will continue to follow me as I try to clear off my checklist.
