Wake Me Up When September Ends

The thrill of finding out that your book is going to be published very quickly wears off when you realize the amount of work that needs to be done.

Editing notes from the publisher will be arriving, sooner rather than later, I would imagine, while hitting the social media circuit and trying to generate buzz is a daily chore.

Listen, I am certainly not complaining, as this is exactly what I wanted, but it does make the number of hours in a day seem less than acceptable.

As if all of that were not enough, Crazy Ink Publishing, the good folks who picked up Karaoke Night, have asked me to contribute a short story for an upcoming anthology called "Infamy."

I will be writing a piece about Jeffrey Dahmer, with the finished story expected to be delivered by the middle of July. The current release schedule slated for an early September release, while Karaoke Night will be out on September 28. It's shaping up to be a big month, as well as one that is sure to deliver a healthy smattering of anxiety. Maybe Green Day had it right, and perhaps I should hibernate through the month of September.
