3 Deadly Drabbles - Weird Vibes
A trio of short tales of dread
Stay Patient
The usual clean hospital smells have been replaced by something sour. It is the reek of sweat and fear that permeates the place now. The ER is filled to overflowing with people showing the same symptoms.
There is a noise from the corner of the room, but only half of the people seem to hear it. They turn together and watch as a portal opens in the wall.
A figured dressed in black emerges, beckoning those paying attention. Their souls obey the call, while their physical bodies drop to the floor. This is the first wave in a death tsunami.
Cul-De-Sac
They steered the moving truck into the cul-de-sac at a little after 3 AM, both ready to get into their new home and hunker down for the night.
It was Tracy who noticed the first light come on, then the second, then each house that they passed. The same upstairs window in every home, the same silhouette standing behind what appeared to be lace curtains.
They arrived at their new home and were greeted by the sign on the door: “Welcome to Martin’s Acres. Please be sure to read all the provided HOA rules. We will be watching you.”
The Photographer
Zack knew that what he did was morbid and creepy, but the galleries loved his work. The good news, if you could call it that, was that there was an endless supply of inspiration for his photos.
He pulled his car over at the latest roadside memorial and readied his camera. He snapped shots from various angles, pleased with the finished shots.
He stopped as he saw the image move on the photo taped to the cross. The kid in the picture pointed at the road with a grin, just as Zack heard the runaway truck bear down on him.

Wow so much horror squeezed into such succinct and poetic pieces! ❤️🔥
All three of these are amazing!! My fave was Stay Patient. I re-read the final line with a full grin 🙌🏽
