As an aging writer myself, I find I have so many ideas.. and realizing I have less and less time to get them out of my head is a huge motivator.

The frantic days being the most creative ones makes sense. Urgency is a better editor than discipline.

Your best years are ahead.

This one really resounded. I turned sixty last year and there comes a time when you have to admit there are more days behind you than ahead, and I'm sure it seeps into my writing (hopefully in a good way). On the bonus side, it's pushing me harder than ever to complete writing projects.

I should join in, even if I live the most boring existence lol

I’m sure it will still be interesting to others. I am endlessly fascinated by the lives of writers.

LOL. I try to mix that up every time and make it fit what I write about on a given day.

I wonder about this, too. But my thoughts tend to linger on all the work my family will find on my computer. And which story will I start, that I will not get to finish?

I've definitely been a lot more aware of that ticking clock the past few years, and I could very much relate to this. I also think there's something to be said about not taking a single day for granted. Loved this, and I also love the way your love for your wife shines through so often amidst the horror. She sounds like such a gem.
