Sometimes the best thing you can say is nothing. Some people just can’t be convinced and arguing with them, even if you win, really neither of you win. Conflict like that, it only drains both of you. Yet so many live on it. It fuels everything they do.
You know I dig your stories, but this post right here is brilliant. A piece of flash reality. And not so coincidentally, much of what you discussed is exactly what I'm feeling and going through. Mostly, I'm happy you found some clarity.
These types of posts are exactly why i created the Alter Ego section on my page. I wanted a space where I could write about my life and the stuff in my head without the horror angle.
Thanks so much for sharing this, John. One of the biggest challenges I face with my own mental health and self-image is getting stuck in my own head, believing that my feelings and reactions are unique (and by logical extension, uniquely shameful). I am so grateful any time someone else is willing to be vulnerable and share the way you did here because it reminds me that I'm not unique, and simply having a feeling is never shameful. I appreciate you!
About 8 months ago I was in the same place as you as far as my emotions go. It is always a struggle as we fight one battle after another and sometimes you just have to back away and take a break
These small moments are some of the hugest wins, aren't they? Realizing how different things used to be, and now there's more peace. Enjoyed this!
Thank you.

This is the truth.
Love to you, my friend 💜👾
Thank you

Clarity was a long time coming, so it feels great to have it now. I hope you get through what you are feeling now.
It’s a long road, but I am. More of these posts, please.

Knowing when to step away is its own skill. Good that you caught it before it caught you.
It’s not always easy to make the right decision.
No. But you did.
That was unexpected.
Still loved it.
Self-reflection is good.
It’s nice to finally be able to do it and not spiral.
Like that?

Bravo! Self-awareness and the strength to choose a healthier path is a huge win! Good for you!
What book?
Unfortunately, I just recently removed all my books from Amazon. I am moving them over to my own store, but that is going to take a minute.
Love to hear that.
